Tom's Dad (aka Grandpa) underwent his heart transplant today and wouldn't you know he's already joking around with the nurses! Go figure. They got the call last night around 10p and surgery started this morning at 7a. Tom's Mom (aka Grandma) was already able to talk with him. The breathing tube is already out, he's fully conscious and probably up to no good ;). The docs think he'll be out of ICU by tomorrow morning. The wonders of modern day science never cease to amaze me.
We love you Grandpa! Wish we could be there; although daycare germs are probably the last thing you need.

So glad to hear that Jim is doing so well. Our thoughts are with them both.
