Grandma and Grandpa visit NJ

We had a great visit with Grandma and Grandpa last week. It was so nice to have a playmate for Lucius ;) I hope we didn't wear them out too much.

We went to a Memorial Day BBQ (Alice slept, of course)

We had a picnic at the park and Lucius caught his first fish (3 of them!).

Sitty and Jagee stopped by for a quick dinner visit. The only other time that both sets of grandparents have been together was at our wedding 5 years ago!

Alice in her Memorial Day gear.

And the Memorial Day parade.

Drew and Lucius waiting for the candy. "I want da candy dat da people frow in da street" That's what we hear every night after dinner now.

Alice sleeping, per usual.

Grandma and Alice sleeping.

And they're awake!

Grandpa helped Tom finish the basement.

We had a great time and wished they could stay longer!

Bottle time

Alice took a bottle today! A full 6 oz.! That's a first.
She slept from 8p-3am last night again. That's only the second time though. Then she fussed from 4:30-5:30a.

She seems to sleep a lot though. Not much awake time yet.

The princess and the rest of us

We finally got her to take a pacifier!!!

Brotherly love.

Mr. Spiderman himself.

Spiderman, spiderman, does whatever a spider can.
Spins a web, exercise, catches fleas just like flies.
Lookout! Here comes da spiderman!!!!!
OK, he doesn't say exercise anymore ('any size'). But it was funny while it lasted.

"Mommy, you be da black spiderman and I be da red spiderman."
Our days revolve around spiderman and his many social events. There's birthday parties to attend, ice cream to eat, fishing expeditions at the beach, fights with big monster alien robots...

Watching TV. His new favorites are Spiderman (big surprise), Batman, X-Men, and Transformers...thanks to Daddy and On Demand. Unfortunately, they're not quite age appropriate so he's picked up some bad words (e.g. stupid). We're working on watching our language...so instead of saying a bad word (stupid poop butt), Lucius has started saying "PeanutButter!" all the time. "OK, Mommy peanut butter!" "Mommy you're my favorite chocolate chicken peanut butter!". Tom thinks he chose that word because it has butt in it. He's probably right.

Alice continues to crack me up. Her little faces and smiles are just too much to handle. Knock on wood -- she actually slept from 8:30p-3am last night. She ate and then didn't eat again until 6:45am. She's doing better than Lu did at this age.

Visit with the Boyds Boys

Ahh, I'm way behind on posting. Sorry.

Last weekend (wait, what's today? two weekends ago??) we had a visit with Uncle Darren, Aunt Kay, Cameron, Ryan and Scott. Lucius looooovvveeed playing (or should I say "fighting") with his cousins. He didn't want them to leave. The cousins loved playing with him and really loved holding little Miss Alice. They all learned about her fussiness and exactly how to hold her (upright or on her belly, NOT on her back).

Side note: Alice is six weeks old in these pictures. My god! Six weeks already!

n

We also had a BBQ on Saturday and Auntie Daniela and family extended got to visit. Yay! She got some Alice time too; although she had to arm wrestle Darren for it.

Tom and the yard

Tom's been making a lot of progress on the yard. Let's just say that the yard was a mess when we moved in. The previous owners LOVED to grow things...unfortunately it was all out of control with absolutely no landscaping and tons of weeds (especially wild tobacco and mint). So, Tom's (and me a little) has started pulling things out. It's not that we're anti-plants; it's just that we're anti-madness. We'll eventually put plants back in...just not as many...and with some thought of form.

Here are some before and after pictures.

There's a huge garden in the middle of the yard that I don't have a before picture of but it looked something like this just without the piles of dirt.
