Prof. Dumbledore is out!

Who knew? Maybe we did.

First Haircut

He did very well. Of course he wouldn't wear the cape nor sit on the booster, but who cares! He sat still and didn't cry.

Singin' in the rain

Just singin' in the rain! Woohoo! It finally rained here.

We went to Pumpkinfest on Saturday and ran into a little friend from daycare. She tried and tried to give Lu kisses but he wasn't having it. She had cooties.

Lu wouldn't get painted, so Tom did. What a nice pumpkin.

Poor Lu was also dragged to a really cool antique store (Dad, you would've loved it) and the fleamarket. I didn't buy anything. Can you believe it?

Well, we did get two pumpkins.

Lu picked out this pumpkin all by himself. He was such a big help too. You can see him in the background, armpit deep in pumpkin.

Raw pumpkin doesn't taste as good as cooked.

And this is what I have to deal with when I'm trying to make his lunch in the morning.

Peter Pan Peanut Butter

and Jelly!

Why do kids insist on licking the bread instead of biting from the side? It doesn't matter if I put two pieces together. He'll still take them apart and lick all of the good stuff out.

Great-Grandma

Unfortunately, Great-grandma Milotzky (Tom's grandma) passed away on Tuesday. Tom went out to Minnesota on Thursday for the funeral. She definitely live a long and fruitful life. We'll miss her greatly, but she'll live on in our hearts and sweet memories.

Here are some pictures of Grandma and Lucius from our visit a year ago.

Welcoming Picnic and other stuff

On Wednesday (10/3) we had a welcoming picnic at daycare. Here's Lu playing on some of his fave toys. No wonder he never wants to leave.

Tom was in Iowa for four days two weeks ago so I don't have many picks (We don't have fun without Daddy! ha ha).
Lu's been eating really well lately. He loved the fish sticks and beets that I made. At the moment his favorite veggie is broccoli. And he's even using a real fork! Just ignore all of the tartar sauce and rice down the front of his shirt.

The college students that live next to the daycare keep giving the kids balloons that were left over from an 18th bday party (you're never to old for 140 balloons!). Of course Lu gets very attached to the green ones. This one actually lasted through 3 bubble baths and sleeping in the crib. I'm amazed that it never popped.
Look at that grip!

And yes, that is Lu's first art work! They do a craft everyday at daycare. The ladies said that he did really well. He refused to where the smock (he won't wear a bib either, hence the mess) but he didn't get any paint on himself. Way to go Lu!

Lovey Dovey

Lucius has a lovey, and it's not me. He loves his bear, Barry. Barry now has to accompany him to daycare, sit on the table during meal time, and even take a bath with him every night. Lu's attachment to Barry is new and developed when Sitty and Jagee were visiting. Hmmm....coincidence?
Luckily I can now use Barry to bribe Lucius into doing things.
"Lucius, do you want to hold Barry and watch TV?" "Lucius, if you stop crying I'll let you hold Barry!" "Lucius, you can hold Barry if you let me change your diaper!"
Oh Barry, I hope we never lose you.
Speaking of attachments, Lu did cry for me a total of 3 times over the past two weeks! Yay, he loves me! The last time was on Saturday when I left for Boston for another "Ladies' Night". Par-tay. I did some shopping, some eating out, and some salsa dancing. I woke up Sunday morning feeling completely hung over. And no, it wasn't from drinking. It was from staying up until 1am! Wow, I'm old.
