It's a christmas miracle. We made it to MN on Saturday morning during the mid-atlantic blizzard of '09. We were the last plane cleared to take off from Philly airport at 10am. I'm so glad we made it here safely, and even gladder that we didn't have to spend two days (with two kids) stranded at the airport.
I'm also glad that we missed the 2 feet of snow...however, we're getting a winter storm here on Christmas so I guess there's no avoiding it.

Owie owie in my ear
So poor Alice has been on antibiotics since Thanksgiving due to an ear infection that won't go away. A 10-day course of amoxicillin didn't cut it. She took her last dose of Augmentin today. Fingers crossed that it kicked this sucker. I'm just hoping that her ears stay healed until we land in Minnesota on Saturday morning. Double ear infection + 3 hour plane ride does not equal happy baby.

Thanksgiving
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at the Angelones. Good food. Good company. Not so good poker game...
deep fried turkey

Not so good picture of us.

Alice and "Uncle" Mike.

Daddy's little girl. She's wearing a different outfit in these pics due to a major poop explosion. You know it's bad when it takes both Mommy and Daddy to clean her up...she had to have a bath mid-thanksgiving feast.

Bonnie with a monkey on her back setting the adult table.

The baby table. So grown up. Alice is already drinking wine. She prefers reds like her mama.

The weirdo boy table.

mmmm....antipasti....

Best buds.

Look, Tom's winning here! We can just pretend like he didn't lose all of his money. Damn Hoover.

We got a tooth!
Finally. Bottom right just started poking through.
The nice thing about having kids with birthdays five days apart is that it's easy to compare their development vis the blog... and boy are they different! I started this blog 3 years ago on Thanksgiving when Lucius was about 8 months. Compared to Alice he was huge and already crawling and pulling himself up. That Christmas he got his first push toy and was pushing it all over the place! Meanwhile Alice still doesn't move. She's definitely getting more adventerous and going from sitting to her belly, but that's about it. It's fun to see how different they are already.

Studio portraits gone horribly wrong
Ok, they weren't that bad for a 10 minute session that was running 30 minutes late.
You'll notice that Alice has the perpetual dazed and confused look on her face. Trust me, I was jumping up and down and shaking some bells trying to get a laugh or smile. She wasn't about to give anything up.

Ewwww...boy cooties!

Ack!!!!

We're getting there.

And the winning picture...

I actually like Lu's face better in the one above....hmmm, maybe some photoshopping is in order.

Wha?

Freaky fake Santa hands

You're not fooling me with those fake hands, lady.

Seriously, an empty box?

Finally one of her smiling.
Lounging on the couch. Still not sure what's going on.Freaky fake Santa hands

Visitors all the way from Texas and Halloween
Um, so how is it half way through November already!
The Wednesday before Halloween, our good friends Kyle and Erin and 7 month old baby CamySue came for a visit. It was so great to see them.
The two girls had tons to catch up on.

CamySue is actually 3 weeks younger than Alice but is much bigger and on.the.move.
We all attended Lucius' Halloween parade on at daycare.
Look! It's Sportacus! For those of you not familiar with LazyTown click here.

And Stephanie!

We hung out at the Rowan Punkin Chunkin

Lucius and Tom carved two pumpkins.

We spent Halloween Day in Philly...liberty bell and cheesesteaks (one from Pat's and one from Geno's/ wiz wit)

Lucius loved them. He actually ate more than I did. I keep forgetting that he's old enough to get him his own meal instead of sharing ours.

Then back home for some trick or treating...

and the annual Angelone Halloween Party. Costumes are mandatory.
Erin, Kyle and Camy

Big Sportacus and Big Stephanie

I should mention that Lucius still wears his sportacus costume. Every day. As soon as he wakes up he gets on his spiderman costume and then puts sportacus over it. He's spiderman sportacus.
