4 Months!!!!

Wow. 4 months! Time flies...

She's ready for the Bumbo.

She likes it.

Still liking it.

and she's done.

Alice has perfected the back arch...life isn't going her way? Back arch.

Play time!

What kids doesn't love playing in the rain?

Alice is starting to play now. She does pretty well in the exersaucer.

I have to say that the back of Alice's chick pea head cracks me up everytime. For some reason it always reminds me of the shrunken head guy from Beetle Juice.

Miss Alice and her milestones?

Well, I can't say that Miss Alice is on the move. I think she's still getting used to holding her head up.

For the last week she's been rolling over once every night (stomach to back). Which means that I have to go in and flip her back over so she'll sleep. If not she'll just chat away to her mobile and then eventually start crying because she can't flip back over. Last Friday was the first time that I actually saw her do it in her crib. I haven't seen her do it since...even though she spends hours (well, minutes) doing tummy time. She tries really hard to roll from back to stomach but she just can't do it. Little Missy gets quite frustrated....so Lucius has to "help" her. I'm pretty sure she's going to get whiplash.

"Look how cute I am!"

"I love life!"

"Ok, we're still doing this"

"All right already. This is getting old"

"Seriously"

"All right. One more smile"

Quilts, chocolate, and cowgirls

Cameron (my 13.5 year old nephew) made Alice a beautiful quilt! She loves looking at the patterns.

Lucius, being....Lucius.

"I loooove chocolate. It my favorite."

Ride em' cowgirl!

House projects

Tom took down the "wood shed". And the rest of the crap on the left side of our house. It's looking really nice now.

I finally finished taking down the wallpaper in the master bathroom (which I started doing a year ago!) and painted. It looks so much better. Again...must get pictures.

Our garden is doing well and we're already planning for next year's.

July 10th 2009

OK, so I'm playing catch up with the month of July. I have a feeling that my blog posting is going to get even worse once I start full time again in September.

Anyhoo...

A couple of weeks ago I was walking back from the neighbor's house with Lu and Alice...when I took a little spill. Can you believe I took out both kids?!!! What kind of mother does that? I tripped going up our front steps. I was able to absorb most of the impact with my elbow and knee but little Alice still banged the back of her head...unfortunately, I wasn't sure if it was on the concrete or the rubber doormat. She screamed bloody murder but didn't seem to have a scratch on her. I ended up getting blood on our couch (didn't realize elbow was cut) and I ripped a hole in my favorite jeans!! Lucius fell too but he was fine.

This is Alice after she calmed down. Notice how Ichabod is lovingly looking after her. Ok, ok, he's just looking for someone (anyone!) to pet him.

I called the nurse just to be on the safe side...and in case anything bad did happen I would've appeared to be a good caring Mom. Of course, the nurse said I should bring her in just to get checked. I felt dumb because I knew she was totally fine, but I brought her in anyway. Guess what? She was totally fine. She did get weighed though, 12 lbs. 50%tile and holding strong.

I have been obsessing about her weight and feeding. She would easily skip multiple meals if I didn't wake her up to eat. Alice actually got dehydrated a couple of times. She would wake up after 14 hours of sleep with a dry diaper...and then her first pee had a little red in it. Yikes!! I thought she had blood in her urine!! Then I googled it (of course) and my expert diagnosis was concentrated urine due to dehydration. I'm really trying to make sure that she eats every 3 hours during the day. What a crazy girl!! Lucius never missed a meal.

One year anniversary

Yesterday was our one year anniversary for moving to NJ and buying our house. It's been quite a busy year! We're still nowhere near being "done" with the house. And by done I mean not so ugly. It's still a mess but we've gotten a few things accomplished.

Miss Alice has a schedule again. On Thursday she slept through the night for the first time...7:30p - 6:00am. Since then she's been waking up about once/night. I run in real quick and stick her pacifier back in her mouth and she'll usually make it until 6am. She's definitely fussy about where she sleeps. She LOVES her crib and has trouble sleeping any other place. What a fussy girl. Alice loves to chat nonstop but isn't so into moving. She still doesn't roll over. She'd rolled over from front to back 3 times in the middle of the night. I'm pretty sure it was by accident though. She's content to have use carry her around ;)

Lucius is Lucius. Loves playing pretend. His new favorite cartoon is GI Joe.

Lu: What dat ting called again Mommy? What was it dat I like?
Me: You mean Hi-Ho Cheerio?
Lu: Noooooo.
Me: I am Sam?
Lu: No.
Me: HJ Hoe?
and on and on and on...I'm not sure why he can't remember the name of it...or he just thinks it's funny to make me say it.

He went on his first field trip last week. He loooooves field trips. His daycare went to the Please Touch museum in Philly. He almost didn't make it. I got a call at 8:30am asking if Lucius was on his way because the bus was about to leave. You see, this is what happens when Daddies are in charge of daycare...Mommies don't know about scheduled field trips and such. I got them out the door in 5 minutes. That must be a world record. I made sure to find out about the next field...I'm going to try to chaperone too.

4th of July

OK, so I'm behind once again. Here's the 4th (with Sitty and Jagee).

We went to a friend's house for a bbq. They have a great pool which Lucius loved.

And even though Alice didn't go swimming she had to model her new bathing suit. The cutest thing ever.

3 months

Alice is officially 3-months and has graduated into her 3-6 month clothes.

Alice is ready for "da fashion show". Not sure how Lu knows about fashion shows...must be on one of his cartoons.

Birthday Party

We went to Drew's 4th birthday party a couple of weekends ago. It was a fun time at the firehouse!

I don't know about this...

and why am I seeing double?

Spraying the hose.

This is what happens when children are left unattended with a firehouse hose. When they were done they would just drop it...I bet you can imagine what happened. Runaway! Runaway!

Finally had to be cracked open with the ax.
