Basement before and after

Basement before

Basement after

NJ is called the Garden State for a reason.

We've got lots of things popping up in our garden--lettuce, radishes, carrots, parsley, pumpkins, peas, squash, jalapenos. Right now the lettuce and radishes are ready to eat. Oh, and we had two asparagus shoots...leftover planting from the previous owners. They were really good but two shoots don't go very far. I finally understand why asparagus is so expensive...you need lots of land to get enough to eat in one sitting.

Tom had to pick all of the cherries off of the tree because they were starting to rot (or get some weird fungus type thing?) and the birds were starting to eat them. Unfortunately, our other cherry tree didn't do well either. We may have to get rid of both and just pick them at the farm down the street. Same goes for our peach trees. They seem to be growing some weird fungus or something.

2 month checkup

Drum roll please....Alice slept from 8:30p - 4:30a, ate and then slept until 7a! I'm sure it won't happen again for a long time, but it's a start.

Little Missy had her 2-month check up today and it seems like she is 'little'. Her growth has slowed way down. Maybe she'll be built like me after all!

Height: 23 inches (75th)
Weight: 11 lbs. 3 oz. (50th)
Head: 36 cm

Poor thing had to get four shots. She was NOT happy and let everyone know it.

9 weeks and counting

Cute outfit #32

The past 9 weeks have truly flown by. I start teaching again next week and little Alice will be home with Daddy for a full 3.5 hours! Luckily, she's taking a bottle now so it shouldn't be a problem.

I just can't stop pinching her cheeks.

I can't get a good picture of her smiling. She's too fast.

Playing with Daddy and Lucius.

And let's not forget about Lucius. Last night we kept yelling at him to get his pjs on and this is what we got. The kid keeps us laughing, that's for sure.

Playing

Alice loves her play mat. She smiles and coos at the little singing star. It's too cute.

A visit from Uncle Chris and Family

Uncle Chris, Aunt JoAnn, and cousins CJ and Bria stopped by for a quick visit last night. It was great catching up with them!

Everyone got to hold Baby Alice. Of course.

The cousins and Lu played nonstop the whole time they were here.

Lucius and CJ are two peas in a pod...they both love the same things -- Sportacus, gymnastics, sports, being goofy 3 year old boys.

So bad yet so good

I guess the sleep deprivation is finally getting to me. I put Alice down in her crib at her usual time last night, 8:30pm. She started fussing at 12a so I stuck her nuk back in. She woke up to eat at 1:40a and then I went back to my room to sleep. Next thing I know I'm waking up feeling rested and it's light outside. I glanced at the clock and it was 6am and for a split second I thought that Miss Alice had slept in! And then I looked at the monitor...it was turned off. Oops. I guess I had turned it off at the 2am feeding? Anyway, I immediately turned it back on and she was crying. Who knows how long that was going on for! I went in to feed her and she latched on like she hadn't eaten in years. She did smile and coo for me when she was done. I guess I'm forgiven.

Now my sleep deprived self is tempted to throw the monitor out the window ;)

And speaking of sleep, about a month ago Lucius had started waking up at 5am again. Boo. So we now set his alarm to go off at 6:30am every morning. He knows that he needs to stay in his room until his radio turns. He's been really good about it. This morning I told him that he didn't have to get up when the radio turned on and he replied "It's time to wake up cuz it's light outside and it's time to sing".

Grandma and Grandpa visit NJ

We had a great visit with Grandma and Grandpa last week. It was so nice to have a playmate for Lucius ;) I hope we didn't wear them out too much.

We went to a Memorial Day BBQ (Alice slept, of course)

We had a picnic at the park and Lucius caught his first fish (3 of them!).

Sitty and Jagee stopped by for a quick dinner visit. The only other time that both sets of grandparents have been together was at our wedding 5 years ago!

Alice in her Memorial Day gear.

And the Memorial Day parade.

Drew and Lucius waiting for the candy. "I want da candy dat da people frow in da street" That's what we hear every night after dinner now.

Alice sleeping, per usual.

Grandma and Alice sleeping.

And they're awake!

Grandpa helped Tom finish the basement.

We had a great time and wished they could stay longer!
