Days off

Attack of the balloons.

Attack of the Lucius

Helping Daddy with dinner.

A new take on an afternoon nap. Lu actually fell asleep this way. What a weirdo.

Last week started off great. Tom and I had Monday off and daycare was still open (yes!), so we went out to lunch and caught a movie sans Lu. Wonderful!
Then Wednesday came and Lu was struck with yet another stomach virus. Thursday and Friday weren't so much fun.
Blake and Ellen came for a visit on Saturday. We all enjoyed the visit (all u can eat sushi, mmmmm), especially Lucius. He and Ellen invented a new game called "jump off the computer chair onto the couch". He's been playing it ever since. Thanks Ellen!

And then last night I went out with some moms for a drink and didn't get home until 11p!! Par-tay.

Happy Birthday Jagee!

Dad turned the big 7-0 last Tuesday. He got to spend it on a nude beach in St. Martins. Wish I was there? Or glad I wasn't?

I tried to get a good shot of Lucius holding a birthday card, but the one nice shot I got was blurry! Ah.

Friends

Lucius likes to sit behind me on the bed and have me lay back on him. Then he rubs my head.

We had some friends over and the kids loved playing together. I was surprised at how well the boys played together! They shared very nicely.

Dazed and Confused.

Fireman Brother and Viking Sister.

Watch out, the sheriff's in town.

Lucius chatting with Miss Martha. I've noticed that Lu seems to prefer women now. Forever he would always go to men to be held, kissed, hugged. Now he wants the women. Lu sat right next to Martha, and then made her stand up and hold him. Due to daycare, I'm wondering if he thinks that every woman is there to cater to all of his wants and needs. Oy Vey. I need to change that.

Ice Skating

Last weekend our daycare had a family social at the Ice Rink. It wasn't as fun as I had anticipated. Lu's still a little young for really enjoying ice skating. But, we did get out onto the rink for a bit.

One of the Dad's was nice enough to take this for us. But, you can tell that using a fancy camera takes practice! Maybe someday I'll take a class on digital photography.

You can see the kids in the background being pulled on a sled. For some reason Lucius didn't want to do it. But, he had fun watching.

Bedhead.

Future plumber?

Or future viking?

Post Christmas visits

Lu's first snowman.

No, that's not our baby! Our friend's had a gorgeous baby (Keeda Joy) on 12/2. Lu was very gentle with her and kept saying "baby, baby".

Chillin' with Gramps. Unfortunately, Grampa broke his hip the week before Christmas. So we did end up visiting at the hospital again. That makes three consecutive trips to Minnesota that involved hospital visits! Luckily, he was discharged by Wednesday and got some Lu time in.

Tom's friend, Mark, is a tattoo artist and gave Lu his first "real" tats. Lu was very proud of them. He got a cat and a race car.

Then he had to give Mark a tattoo.

The Nuk boys were not cooperating during the family photo shoot. Oh well.

They did have fun playing with the guitars.

Lucius hates wearing overalls. Somehow Tom managed to get these on him. I think he was just so tired that he didn't pitch his usual fit.

We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas (or any other winter holiday that you may celebrate) and Happy New Year! December has been a whirlwind for us...and so will January and February. We're looking forward to what the new year has to offer (a big move? or no move at all?). I'll try to be better about blogging.

We made it to Minnesota.

Well the week before we left for Minnesota Lu came down with a stomach virus. Yes, the requisite vomiting and diarrhea for 5 days. I just can't reiterate enough how glad I was that it didn't happen in Minnesota. If you've forgotten our last trip to Minnesota (in April) was plagued by the rotavirus which resulted in a trip to the emergency room and an overnight stay. Then Grandpa got sick...and well it just wasn't a fun visit.
But, I'm happy to report that we made it to Minnesota and back healthy, wealthy, and wise. We had a great trip visiting family and friends. Per usual, it went by way to fast.
I also have to give Lu props for being so good on the airplane. The traveling was pretty painless.

Evil grin.

Lu got lots of great toys.

Lu got lots of play time with his Auntie Lisa and cousin Ryan.

"C is for cookie, that's good enough for me!"

Finding sweet treats at Grandma's.

Helping Aunt Carole pass out presents on Christmas.

Playing trucks with Cousin Ryan.
